Day 22 in Niani, CRR: Under the Scorching Sun, Delivering Hope to Forgotten Homes

Day 22 – Ramadan Distribution in Niani, CRR

Scorching heat. Exhaustion setting in. Completely knackered. But the mission doesn’t stop.

Day 22 of our Ramadan distribution in Niani, Central River Region (CRR), and the sun showed absolutely no mercy today. The heat drained every ounce of energy, long distances tested our strength, and fatigue was very real. But despite it all, the team kept moving forward.

Because the reality is simple — every delay means another family waits longer for relief. And for many of them, the wait has already been far too long.

Nearly 80% of the homes we visit are led by widows or frail elderly men. These are people who spent their entire lives under the sun, working in farms and fields, dedicating their strength to their families and their communities.

Today, in the twilight of their years, your generosity is reaching them.

One moment today truly put everything into perspective. An elderly woman received her Ramadan food package, held it close to her chest, and quietly said:

“I can’t remember the last time someone made a gesture of this magnitude for me.”

In that moment, the heat, the exhaustion, and the long hours suddenly felt insignificant.

Because sometimes what we are delivering is not just a food pack.

It is hope. It is a reminder to someone who felt forgotten that they are still seen, still valued, and still cared for.

That quiet sigh of relief you see in many homes carries the weight of many years of struggle. Yet today, thanks to your support, those homes are reminded that humanity still stands with them.

Be assured: your donations are reaching the people who need them the most. In these humble homes, even a small gesture becomes something profound — proof that their years of hard work and sacrifice have not gone unseen.

Day 22. Niani, CRR.
The sun was relentless, but so are we.
