Sanitation and hygiene are a basic human right for every human being, despite your Nationality, religion or income , yet over 785 million people around the world livewithout access to drinking water.
Millions of people wake up every day not knowing where their next drink will come from in places like The Gambia, Senegal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Somalia, Gaza and Yemen.
People are living in extreme poverty and these lacks of basic facilities result in people having to walk miles every day to get access to water. For adults, that means hours that could be spent working and earning an income whilst for children that’s a day of school missed.
At Charity, we have been campaigning to put an end to this. Every single human in the world deserves access to water and basic hygiene facilities; things we take for granted here in the United Kingdom.
Our Water Aid Campaign was established to deliver those living in extreme poverty solutions to their lack of water. Not only are we providing them with wells, hand pumps, tankers and boreholes but we’re also educating communities on theneed for clean water and management.
We’ve seen first-hand the powerful impact this has had on entire communities. By improving hygiene and providing drinking water to everyone in the village, morbidity rates drop and people are able to spend their days productively and earn a living for their family.
However we need your help. Just a small donation a month can help us enormously and provide those people who need it most access to drinking water and safe washing facilities
