Community Water Project Update – August 2025

We are pleased to share progress on our ongoing Community Water Project aimed at providing clean and safe water to under-served communities.

✅ Project Scope: Installation of sustainable boreholes and water access points in rural villages.

✅ Current Phase:

• 183 new boreholes successfully drilled in The Gambia in different most hard to reach communities
• Water testing completed – all meet health and safety standards
• Hand pumps and overhead tanks installed

✅ Beneficiaries: Over 4,500 per community members now have daily access to clean water

✅ Impact:

• Reduced waterborne diseases
• Improved school attendance for children, especially girls
• Less burden on women walking long distance for water

✅ Next Steps:

• 14 more urgent locations in critical need
• Community sensitization on water hygiene
• Ongoing monitoring & maintenance
