Purify Your Wealth by Giving Zakat Al Fitr Correctly
ZAKAT AL FITR DONATION
An obligation to help those in need as a form of purification of one’s wealth
Giving Zakat is an obligation decreed by Allah (swt) upon every sane, adult Muslim who owns wealth that exceeds the value of the Nisab. Making a Zakah donation – 2.5% of one’s wealth – is fulfilling a pillar of Islam, and the very foundation of faith. The Arabic word ‘Zakah’ or sometimes pronounced ‘Zakat’, means purification, growth and blessing. Much like how a plant grows healthier and better after being pruned, our wealth is purified and cleansed through the giving of Zakah donations.
In the holy Qur’an, Allah teaches us that giving Zakat is greatly rewarded and a way to obtain His mercy:
“My Mercy extends to all things. That (Mercy) I shall ordain for those who have God-consciousness and give their Zakat and those who believe in Our Signs.” (Surah Al-A`raf 7:156).
As making your Zakah donation is so important, HMD has make it a priority to ensure your zakat goes to those who needs it the most.

During the holy month of Ramadan, let’s remember the importance of giving and helping those in need. In this blessed month many families amongst our community struggle to put food on the table. We ask for your support in providing food aid to the needy this Ramadan. Your donation will help us purchase and distribute essential food items to families in need. Your generosity will make a real difference in the lives of those who are struggling to make ends meet. Alhamduliaaah, Last year Ramadan was a success, together we have reached out to 1011 vulnerable families by giving them food packs to sustain them for the entire Ramadan. We thank Allah for being part of those welcoming Ramadan 2023. Many where with us last year and they are not with us this year, many invested for their Ahkirah as much as possible last year , unfortunately they are not with us this year This is a chance for you and I to invest as much as possible this coming Ramadan by sharing your blessing with the most vulnerable in our societies. With your help, last year we were able reached out to 1000’s of lives by giving them food packs to sustain them and empower them to become financially independent. Imagine, feeding a Muslim family of 3-10 or more for the entire Ramadan with your donations £50 full package imagine, the blessing of empowering a family by giving them a family empowerment package to help an entire family stay financial independent ( you could be the one to safe a family from being street beggars ) : £200 full package you can sponsors a water well this Ramadan : £1,000 full package you can sponsors a masjid this Ramadan : £7,000 full package you can sponsor a child doing hifs Ramadan : £240 12 months package you can feed over 400 children who would go to bed hungry in Uganda without support for : A day package £100 …………………………………………………………… There’s no doubt that from a spiritual perspective, Ramadan brings with it great ease, blessings and peace of mind.

We design his project to ensure that everyone despite their status, income or background have access to clean water. These are some of the challenges we face here in the Gambia. A dry country vulnerable to climate change.
Donate NowThe Ulama – our respected teachers and scholars – are the guardians of knowledge, guiding our communities with wisdom, teaching our children, preserving our faith, and dedicating their lives to the service of Islam.
Yet, despite their invaluable role, the reality is heartbreaking: the vast majority of Ulama struggle daily to provide for their families. Many receive no fixed income and rely solely on irregular charity, often living with financial insecurity while carrying the weight of their communities on their shoulders.
At HMD Charity, we believe that those who carry the torch of knowledge should not be left to struggle in silence. Our Ulama Assistance Project is designed to provide scholars with a stable and dignified income, enabling them to focus fully on their mission – teaching, guiding, and serving – without the constant worry of how to feed their families.
By supporting this project, you are not only uplifting a scholar, but also investing in entire generations of students, families, and communities who benefit from their knowledge and guidance.
✨ Support the Ulama. Strengthen the Ummah. ✨
