HMD Charity Uganda 2026 Deployment: Bringing Food, Hope and Humanity to Families in Need
A Journey That Touches the Heart: HMD Charity in Uganda
Being here in Uganda as part of HMD Charity’s 2026 deployment has been a deeply moving experience. As a CEO, a father, and above all, a fellow human being, witnessing the daily struggles of vulnerable families has reminded me of the true meaning of compassion, gratitude, and service.
Our mission is simple: to reach people facing hardship, provide essential support, and remind families that they are not forgotten.
Yet, when you stand before a family struggling to find their next meal, you realise that humanitarian work is about much more than distributing food. It is about restoring hope, preserving dignity, and standing beside people during their most difficult moments.
When a Food Pack Means More Than a Meal
During our time in Uganda, we have visited homes where families had no food available before our arrival with essential food packs. Some families shared that they had not eaten rice for over a year. Others described surviving on just one meal a day, prepared from whatever food they could find.
These are difficult realities to witness.
Behind every statistic is a family, a parent trying to care for their children, and a household doing everything possible to get through another day.
It is particularly heartbreaking to hear a parent explain that they have nothing to feed their children. No parent should have to experience that uncertainty.
For these families, receiving a food pack is more than receiving essential supplies. It means having food available for the household, easing immediate worries, and experiencing a moment of relief amid ongoing hardship.
This is why food relief matters. Every food pack represents an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.
The Reality of Hunger and the Work Still Ahead
Although we are grateful to provide immediate assistance, we understand that emergency food distribution is only one part of the wider humanitarian challenge.
A food pack can help a family today, but the struggle may continue tomorrow. Long-term support, sustainable solutions, and continued community assistance remain essential.
Our experience in Uganda has strengthened our commitment to reaching vulnerable communities and responding to their needs with compassion and responsibility.
At HMD Charity, we believe humanitarian work must begin by listening to people, understanding their circumstances, and delivering assistance that respects their dignity.
There is still so much work to do, and we cannot do it alone.
United by Faith, Connected Through Humanity
One of the most meaningful aspects of this deployment has been standing alongside brothers who have travelled from different countries, united by our deen and a shared desire to serve for the sake of Allah.
Despite differences in nationality, background, and experience, we are brought together by a common purpose: to help those in need and make a positive difference in the lives of others.
These moments remind us that compassion has no borders. The willingness to help another human being transcends distance, language, and nationality.
Our shared faith encourages us to care for those experiencing hardship, give generously, and recognise the responsibility we carry towards others.
This deployment is not simply about delivering aid. It is also about building connections, strengthening our sense of brotherhood, and putting our values into action.
Your Generosity Is Reaching Real Families
To every donor, supporter, volunteer, and well-wisher who has contributed to HMD Charity’s work, thank you.
Your generosity is reaching real families. Here in Uganda, we are witnessing the difference your support makes on the ground.
Every contribution helps us work towards providing essential food supplies and reaching people facing difficult circumstances. Your support enables our team to continue this work and reminds the communities we serve that they have not been forgotten.
When you support humanitarian relief, you become part of a collective effort to ease suffering and bring hope to people who need it most.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who has placed their trust in HMD Charity and continues to stand with us in serving vulnerable communities.
A Reminder of What Truly Remains
This journey has reminded me of a simple but profound truth: what we give for the sake of Allah is what truly remains.
Material possessions, achievements, and worldly success are temporary. The kindness we show, the suffering we help ease, and the lives we touch are reminders of the greater purpose behind our actions.
As we continue our work in Uganda, I carry with me the faces of the families we have met, the resilience they have shown, and the gratitude expressed through the smallest gestures.
Their strength inspires us to continue. Their circumstances remind us why this work matters. And their trust reinforces our responsibility to serve with sincerity.
May Allah accept our efforts, reward every person who has contributed to this mission, and ease the hardships of the families we have met. May He grant relief to all those facing hunger and hardship, and allow us to continue serving humanity with sincerity and compassion.
Ameen.
